Hey world!
This is Elder Hansen signing on from beautiful San Pablo City Philippines. This week definately was a good one for me.. a little scary as well. Lets dive right in.
To answer your question Mom, yes, I did go back to the river and I did teach analyn. When we got there she was swimming in a little swimming hole area so we had to wait for a little bit while she changed and stuff, but that turned out to be a blessing cuz in the meantime we met 2 other families and were able to teach them, so in that area now we have 9 people that were teaching and we have only been there twice. It is truly amazing how the Lord can lead you to one place and the people are so ready to listen. It was wayy sweeetness!!! And we are going back there next sunday to continue our little adventure by the river.. Hopefully there will be more people waiting to hear the good news of the gospel.
Also, we had a little scare this week with my companion, he had been complaining of chest pain this past week and it had been getting to the point where he would wince in pain as he would talk and he said it felt like his chest was crushing in on him.. So we called Sister Anderson and got permissoin to get a check up, when we went in to the doctors office the doctor started asking my companion all sorts of questions about his pain and whatnot.. Then he went out of the room and came back with some weird form type things and told my comp to go to the emergency room and get an ECG test because the problem might be with his heart. So we went there and my comp got this ECG test thing and was prescribed some pills for heart-burn but we have to go back next week and check up again to see if he has something up with his heart.. The scariest part is that if he does have something wrong, he might have to be sent home until he can get better. President was saying that the church doesn't mess around with heart problems and that this week he will need to be monitored closely. I will let you know how it goes next week. I hope all will be well...
On a brighter note, my ward this week held their annual Christmas program. And to say the least it was a little risque, like it basically was just a bunch of young men and women dancing to rap in the stake center. Their outfits were a little bit immodest and a lot of the songs they were dancing to were about getting drunk and were cussing up a storm. It was really akward too because Elder Muller and I were sitting right next to President Anderson and yeahhhhh... it was akkkwaaarrrdddd.. We were basically the only ones who understood the lyrics to the songs they were dancing to and it seems that the Philippines has a different code of ethics when it comes to dancing. But luckily at the end of the dancing there was a little nativity thing that brought out what little spirit was left in the room... ahhhhh, good times in the philippines.. Oh and there was this one little kid, he was like 6 years old and he is amazing at dancing! Like he was straight up break dancing and he could do the whole thing where you like spin on top of your head and stuff haha.. I have a video I think im gonna upload later.. Plus I have some pics. So yeah..
As for our other investigators they are doing quite well, Mare Fe was having some second thoughts about her baptism so we committed her to pray, i hope all works out there.. Sister Pasko still hasnt made it to church, just a might bit frustrating because she reads the BOM and prays all the time.. And the Tuazon family.. Yep, still not baptized, but they were all there for the christmas party thing and they are still active in church. Just gotta get that tatay to approve their baptism.. Sayang naman.. And I think I already told you about the ones by the river.. SO that pretty much covers it all. The work is amazing and the christmas season here is definately heating up... Literally... It was like 95 today with 80%+ humidity... WOOT..so much fun! But life is amazing here in the philippines....
OH WAIT.. before i go. One more story. WERE FINALLY GETTING A NEW APT! After years of searching in my area.. yes literally years.. we found a new apartment! And it is within sight of the church! Let me tell you how it happened.. Ok so we found this one apartment, or house, if you wanna call it that.. And we had taken care of everything, the only thing missing was the signature on the contract and presidents approval. So the messamers come pick us up on thursday morning to go take pictures of the apartment, so we first went by the owner's house so that she could come unlock the apartment for us.. But when we arrived at our door she gave us this grim "kamusta".. I could just feel that there was a problem.. Then she went on to explain that she had given the apartment to another person because she couldnt understand what Elder Bernard said to her about the taxes.. anyways.. to make a long story short. Within an hour after that, we found an even better apartment, thats closer to the church and the owners are so easy to work with. So the whole situation worked out perfectly! we will be moving in on Dec 30.. I am way excited.
But yeah... thats it. I have to go now.. My hour is about to expire here. I love you all so so so so so so much!!!
